About Us

The South Carolina Association for Educational Technology (SCAET) is a nonprofit association organized under the South Carolina Nonprofit Organization Code. The purpose of the association are:

  • To promote the innovative, intelligent and responsible use of technology in the enhancement of education in South Carolina.
  • To organize and produce the South Carolina Educational Technology Conference.
  • To establish and/or support other statewide forums for sharing ideas, information and resources in the use of educational technology.

Currently, the association consists of and is managed exclusively by a Board of Directors. The Board is composed of professionals employed in the field of education or business partners of education in South Carolina. The Board of Directors includes representatives from K-12 school systems, higher education systems, state agencies and the business community.

Board members represent the South Carolina Budget and Control Board Office of Information Resources, the South Carolina Association of School Librarians, the South Carolina Department of Education, the South Carolina Partnership for Distance Learning, South Carolina Educational Television, Applied Association of Interactive Multimedia (AAIM), the University of South Carolina College of Library and Information Science, K-12 school districts, and representatives from the business community.
